The WP Marine team dockside at Seawork International 2011
Hundreds of visitors have been stopping off at WP Group’s trade stand at Seawork International 2011 in Southampton to hear about how the company’s specialist marine division can tailor solutions to meet the sector’s fuel and lubricant requirements.
WP Marine provides the complete dockside marine fuel and lubricants solution, supplying high-quality Esso marine gas oil, low sulphur gas oil and Mobil lubricants throughout southern England.
Seawork International, held over three days and Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition in a working port environment, has proved the ideal industry showcase for WP Marine since the WP Group recently rebranded from the former name of Wessex Petroleum.
Melanie Noel, WP Group’s sales manager said on day two of the event: “The quality and calibre of businesses here, from large to small, is fantastic. On day two alone more than 250 visitors attended our trade stand.
“They have been visibly impressed by what we are already doing in the marine sector by way of fuel management services, from professional distribution to expert fuel analysis.
“Our partnership approach with customers, from freight liners to marine operators, is focused on increasing their productivity and profits whilst providing peace of mind through being the trusted supplier and support specialist of choice.”
Marine companies utilising WP Marine include cruise liner Fred Olsen, workboat operator Williams Shipping Marine, Huelin Renouf, the freight liner which sails daily between Southampton and the Channel Islands and Premier Marinas, one of the UK’s leading marina operators.
Mel added: “With direct access to the Esso-bonded warehouse, WP Marine is refinery based, providing excellent MARPOL-regulated logistics and cost-effective supply for all deliveries, with both duty-free and duty-paid options available.”
WP’s exhibition stand at Seawork International is shared with Soltron.
WP Marine exclusively supplies advanced marine gas oil, which is one of the cleanest burning fuels available in the marine market, with Soltron enzyme technology.
Benefits of the Soltron product include reduced fuel consumption and emissions, enhanced fuel equality and optimised engine performance, as well as preventing fuel contamination and restoring and reclaiming fuel condition.
To date, Soltron is supplying 200 litres a month as the decontaminant and preventative treatment of choice to marine fuels supplied by WP Marine.
Simon Mayne, Soltron’s business development manager, said: “What our customers are getting is an organic fuel treatment that boosts fuel efficiencies and inhibits marine contaminants linked to the dreaded diesel bug by neutralising bacterial growth.”
Soltron scored five out of five stars in a recent independent test of 12 diesel bug treatments by Motor Boat & Yachting which reported: “Its impressive performance in the filtration test, coming out top of all the products by passing through the 10-micron filter 49% faster than the control sample.”
